Optionally display traditional 'Hand' pan cursor instead of NSEW cursor
We are replacing a mapping application that uses the more traditional 'Hand' cursor for panning, and uses the NSEW cursor as a custom cursor when dragging/dropping a map feature. Since our customers are already familiar with this behavior, it is desirable to optionally replace the default Pan cursor with the Hand.
Looks fine to me.
I've attached a bitmap containing the various cursor options. Across the top is a capture of the toolbar from a legacy ESRI MapObjects application. The 'stock' ESRI cursor for panning is the grabbing hand (third from the left), and that's what customers are expecting. Furthermore, we have assigned the 4-point cross (or NSEW cursor) to a different map operation (dragging/dropping features to move them on the map).
The default Pan cursor for MapWinGIS (lower right of attachment) is the 4-point cross. I don't want to change that since MapWinGIS users expect the Pan cursor to be the 4-point cross.
So I added a property to optionally replace the standard MapWinGIS Pan cursor with a grabbing hand. The old ESRI cursor seemed too plain and had no color, so I found a 'stock' grabbing hand cursor from Microsoft (lower left of attachment). It follows more closely with the larger colored cursors built in to MapWinGIS. But I'm open to other options if you prefer something different.
Can you add a screenshot with the new and old cursur.
