I've committed another fix which scales charts for image export. As for the main issue we can report it to Syncfusion or use CutePDF.

It seems that the problem is with Syncfusion's component, which our PDF export tool uses. I tried to generate XPS with regular print command and then to convert it with a simple code:

The result is attached:

. Pdf on the left doesn't place rotated text correctly, int the XPS all the text is placed ok. I attached the files as well:

.

CutePDF printer doesn't have problems with the same layout.

The artifacts at the top left are chart labels which weren't rendered correctly (GDI failed to do the scaling for larger DPI). I rewrote the rendering routine with GDI+: MWGIS-27.

I just quickly tested this new feature and it is very cool.
With my first attempt to export to a PDF I got a NullPointer Exception but with the second time I got a pdf file.
If you look at the exported png (

) and the exported pdf ((

) both made from the same layout you'll see several differences.
For example the lines of the north arrow are not very smooth in the pdf version. At the top-left some artifacts appear on the map.
The text in the textbox is cut off.
